Scope and Content

Journal kept by G.R. Crotch while collecting in the Canary Islands, in 1864. The diary begins 28 April 1864 and ends 22 August 1864, about 200 pages.

Administrative / Biographical History

George Robert Crotch (1842-1874) worked in the University Library, Cambridge until 1871. He went to America in 1872 on an expedition to collect specimens of natural history, where he died. His collections came to the University Museum of Zoology.

Manuscripts can be consulted on appointment only. The Museum of Zoology is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 17:00 pm. Access and reproduction is at the discretion of the Archivist.
