Administrative / Biographical History
Prince Gavriil Konstantovich (English: Gabriel Constantinovich) was born on 15 July 1887 in Imperial Russia. He was the second son of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich and Grand Duchess Elizabeth Mavrikievna of Russia. Gavriil was a great-grandson of Tsar Nicholas I. Choosing a military career, he served in the army in the World War I. Much of his family died during the war and the Russian Revolution. He narrowly escaped execution by the Bolsheviks and lived the rest of his life in exile in France where he died on 28 February 1955.
