  • Photograph albums belonging to the Cameron family undated

Administrative / Biographical History

William Fulton Jackson , born 1855  , was educated at St Enoch Parish school in Glasgow, Scotland. After leaving school he was employed with Messrs Westlands, Laidlaw and Co as a junior clerk. He went on to join the ranks, in the office of the Secretary, of the North British Railway Company in 1877  . He was then appointed the General Manager of the North British Railway Company in 1899  . Jackson was the last general manager to be appointed before the 'grouping' of the railways in 1923  . He was also heavily involved with the Young Men's Christian Assosciations and Evangelistic Committee.
