Margaret H. Erskine joined the St John Ambulance Brigade in Mar. 1914 and served as a VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) parlour maid before serving as a nurse at Caenshill Military Hospital and Brooklands Military Hospital, both in Weybridge, and later at No. 8 British Red Cross (Baltic & Corn Exchange) Hospital in France.
