Administrative / Biographical History

The Amalgamated Association of Beamers, Twisters and Drawers claims to have been formed in July 1866, the formation date of the Blackburn branch, and reconstituted in December 1889. The Board of Trade dates it from 1890. Hand and machine were added to the name in 1916.
