INVENTORY BOOK: Penmon Limestone Quarries.

Administrative / Biographical History

The group of Penmon Quarries, including Flagstaff and Dinmoor, have been worked since the sixteenth century and they later provided the stone for the bridges over the Menai Straits. Because of its fine quality the stone was known as Anglesey Marble.
