Inside front cover: 'These following Manuscripts (as far as a Copy of Verses on Mr Jones' Death in a Black Cpver), I found in the Library of my most worthy Friend, the Revd Mr John James; & tho to another Person they may seem perhaps of little or no consequence, yet as Relicts of his, they deservedly claim a Place, in that Study so genteely encreased by his generous Addition.' 18th-cent. hand.
