Scope and Content

University of London certificates including General and Higher School (1924-1930), matriculation (1929), external intermediate (1930), BA (internal) 1935. Programme for Presentation Day, Wednesday May 13th 1936 at The Royal Albert Hall. University of London Honours BA history examination papers, 1935; newspaper cuttings from The Times, May 14th 1936 (including a full half page photograph of the event at the Royal Albert Hall). Institute of Bankers certificate for passing part 1 (1930). Acknowledgement stationery (2 slips) from National Socialist Party, Hamburg Gauleitung, 1936. Also includes cardboard tube sent by the University of London to convey certificates in the post.

Administrative / Biographical History

Leslie Brown spent 25 yrs in Kenya working for Barclays Bank D.C.O. (Dominions, Colonies and Overseas). He returned to England when Kenya achieved Independence. Once back in England he worked as assistant to the Chief Accountant for Barclays D.C.O.
