Collection of Printed 'Particulars of Sale' for Properties in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, 1796-1865

The majority of these printed 'Particulars of Sale' refer to a number of parishes around Newark upon Trent, Nottinghamshire, but the collection also includes property within Newark itself and in the city of Nottingham. Of special interest are the records of sale of land and property in the open-field parishes of Laxton (and Moorhouse) and Egmanton, Nottinghamshire, and the immediate pre- and post-enclosure sales in Nottingham. Several of the Nottingham examples include detailed plans. Some of the Particulars refer to substantial agricultural estates and give details of tenants and acreages, but others describe commercial properties, such as a blacksmith's shop in Beeston.

This artificial collection brings together twenty-three specimens of 'Particulars of Sale', prepared between 1796 and 1865 on behalf of a variety of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire estates.
