Administrative / Biographical History

Walter L. Williams and Sons, solicitors, were based in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire. The firm accumulated records relating to their predecessor's clients' interests in the area. Walter Levi Williams of Cefn-y-dre (fl. 1888-1930) of the firm was a surviving partner of Vaughan Williams and Co; he operated a separate busines as an estate agent and auctioneer. The clients included the Rev. James Jenkins (fl. 1855-1892), Baptist minister, Mayor of Newport, Pembrokeshire; the Penn family of Camrose Estate, in Castle Bythe, Rudbaxton, Haycastle and Rosemarket, Pembrokeshire; J. W. Evans, of West Street, Fishguard, William Williams & Son, General Merchants; Fishguard British School; and W. Cuthbert Thomas Supply Stores of Fishguard.
