Scope and Content

A notebook consisting of lecture notes on Welsh literature, compiled by Glenda Parry Williams whilst a student at the University College of North Wales. Amongst the courses attended by her were Classical poetry by John Gwilym Jones and The history of literature by Dr Geraint Gruffydd.

Also, the original manuscript of William Owen Pughe, published in 1983.

Administrative / Biographical History

Glenda Parry Williams was a student at the Welsh Department of the University College of North Wales between 1957 and 1959. She worked at the University of Wales Bangor as the Academic Translator, until her retirement in 2002. Amongst her published works are Welsh translations of the plays, Les bonnes by Jean Genet and Frken Julie by August Strinberg.

She is married to the historian, Professor A. D. Carr, and they have two children, Gwenllian and Richard.

Arrangement

Items incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts. There is no apparent system of arrangement.
