Administrative / Biographical History

The PSPC was founded in 1954 at the instigation of the National Association of Retired Police Officers to represent the interests of public service pensioners, especially with regard to their pensions. Originally called the Public Service Pensioners' Committee, it very rapidly became known as the Public Service Pensioners' Council. It is still in existence and has many affiliated organisations, including trade unions and pensioners' associations.
