Harmer practised medicine, including group photographs of staff and important British and Russian Imperial Family visitors; also, several publications concerning hospital medicine in Russia, including some by Michael Harmer, and his obituary, 1998, together with an icon, a map, a letter from Queen Alexandra, and the hospital badge

Administrative / Biographical History

Michael Harmer's father, W. D. Harmer, was surgeon at the Anglo-Russian Hospital in Petrograd during the First World War. See the former's The Forgotten Hospital, Chichester, 1982
