A collection of sound recordings from the Record Office for Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland, 1953-1986

Scope and Content

This varied sound collection comprises 30 interviews, 15 speeches, 13 items of music, ten broadcasts, seven lectures, six sound effects and two council meetings. The recordings have been deposited with the Record Office at various points between 1953-1986 and added to their Sound Recordings (SR) collection. The following items from this collection were not digitised: SR1, SR9, SR14, SR19, SR25 Side 2, SR34, SR37 Side 2, SR43-47, SR49, SR51-52, SR55, SR65-67, SR69 Side 2, SR71, SR73 Side 1, SR74, SR79 Side 2, SR80. Administrative / Biographical History

The Record Office is a service provided by Leicestershire County Council in partnership with Leicester City Council and Rutland County Council. The Record Office exists to preserve and provide access to a wide range of resources which can be used to research the history and culture of Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
