The Elliss family held residences at various places in both Wales and England, including Llanafan, Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, Llanilar and Aberystwyth in Cardiganshire, and Lamberhurst, Brenchley and Rolvenden in Kent. They were part-owners of lead mines at Llandovery and Llanafan.
