This material is held atUniversity of Leeds Special Collections

Scope and Content

The collection includes works by Louis Compton Miall on science, Latin, gardening and education. It also encompasses some letters with one written by Charles Darwin and another from T. H. Huxley. It includes some personal recollections by Miall and obituaries detailing his life and career.

The archives arrived in Special Collections in a metal box engraved with Miall's name. Inside is label with the name of the company 'Ede and Ravenscroft' an academic outfitter. This suggests that the box may have contained Miall's academic dress.
