The bank was also known as Francis Cobb & Son and otherwise styled the Margate Bank and the Isle of Thanet Bank. Branches were opened at Westgate on Sea (1877), Birchington on Sea (1884) and Broadstairs (1887). Lloyds acquired the business in 1891.
