The National Joint Council for Teachers in Further Education in England and Wales was established 12 February 1980. The Local Authorities' Conditions of Service Advisory Board (LACSAB) (succeeded by the Local Government Management Board, the depositor of these records, in 1991) co-ordinated the activities of the employers' sides of this and the other local authority employer/staff negotiating bodies and provided its secretariat.
