Scope and Content

In consideration of 8s, Isabella, widow of John Gibet, quitclaims to Barnwell Hospital ['Domus Elemosinarie de Bernewell', Barnwell Priory, Cambridgeshire] all dower right or claim in a messuage with close and croft in Barnwell, which her late husband formerly held of the prior and convent of Barnwell at an annual rent of eighteen pence (see Doc 4015). Deed poll, witnessed by Harvey son of Eustace, Adam his brother, Robert Seman, Robert his son, Hervey clerk, Michael and John his sons, Geoffrey Melc, William Faber, Andrew Pateware, Simon Lungis, Geoffrey son of Scolastic', and others. Endorsed: 'Isabella uxor Johannis Gibelet'. Further endorsed with a priory device. Tag, trace of green pendant seal. Tied to Doc 4015.
