Administrative / Biographical History

The Radio Officers' Union changed its name to the Radio and Electronic Officers' Union in 1967 to reflect the changing duties of the radio officer. It amalgamated with the Merchant Navy and Airline Officers' Association and the Mercantile Marine Service Association in June 1985 to form the National Union of Marine, Aviation and Shipping Transport Officers.
