Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
In March 1903 the officers of the Calvinist Methodist Chapel in Dolgellau, known as Salem Chapel, wrote to the officers of the Judah Baptist Chapel of the same town. They stated that they wished to purchase part of the Baptist Chapel cemetery in order to extend the C.M. Chapel. They hoped to build a lecture room, a classroom and a kitchen. Their request was refused, since the Baptists were tied by the conditions set out in their title deeds and by the fact that bodies had been buried too near to the boundary wall.
