Administrative / Biographical History

The donor's family has long been established in the Kidmore area to the north of Benson. The donor himself participated in a large number of agricultural experiments (including grass drying, corn drying, crop spraying) many of which were organised by the Oxford University Department of Agriculture from 1922 to 1940. He proposed to retire from farming in 1968

Farm size: 190 acres; heavy soils; tenant to Christchurch College, Oxford
