Custodial History
These papers were used by John Philip Edmond in compiling The Aberdeen printers, Edward Raban to James Nicol, 1620-1736. Hand-list of books printed at Aberdeen or by Aberdeen printers, 1620-1736 (Aberdeen: Edmond & Spark, 1886); and by A. Webster Robertson and J.F.K. Johnstone, whilst researching Bibliographia Aberdonensis, 2 vols. (Aberdeen: Third Spalding Club, 1929-30).
It is believed that A. Webster Robertson placed the collection in the care of J.F.K. Johnstone in 1912, and that he gave it in turn to P.J. Anderson or W. D. Simpson, for deposit in the University.
