Administrative / Biographical History
Charles Lennox-Gordon was born on 3 August 1791. He was the eldest son of Charles, 4th Duke of Richmond and Lennox (1764-1819). He was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the army and served in the latter stages of the war against Napoleon, and was at Waterloo. He was an aide-de-camp to Queen Victoria and was the Hereditary Constable of Inverness Castle. Charles Lennox-Gordon, 5th Duke of Richmond and Lennox, died on 21 October 1860.
