Showing the stall of Maria Cecelia Brookes (1866 - 1935) [centre of photograph] with an array of fancy goods. MCB was the daughter of George Brookes (b. 1825 in Cheltenham, Gloucs.), described in Sutton's Directory of 1889 as a fancy goods dealer and fishmonger at the Market Hall. According to the 1901 census Cecelia worked as an assistant and lived at 4 Llwynon Gardens. She married James Evans (1870 - 1947).
