Administrative / Biographical History

Hubert Milner Brown (fl 1887-1892), accountant with the Northern Uruguay Railway Co, was employed as an assistant accountant in 1887, and travelled to Uruguay. There he was in charge of paying the men building the railway, and personally had to carry the wages to them. Never was he attacked, despite the regularity of his arrivals, possibly due to the idea that he was an excellent shot.
