Contains an index to the volume, followed by autograph manuscript notes on the various natural history classifications written, according to the title-page, at Watlington in 1871.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Barwell Turner (1845-1917) was a botanist and expert on the Desmidieae. He became President of the Leeds Naturalists' Club in 1881.
