Assignment of life interest, Trumpington, Cambridgeshire

By his will dated 12 Mar 1825, the Revd Christopher Anstey of Norton, Co Durham, left to his wife Elizabeth a supplementary life income derived from #3,000 invested in consols, the same to go to his nephew Christopher John Anstey esq of Trumpington after Elizabeth's death. By this will, and a subsequent codicil. he appointed his brother Arthur Anstey Calvert esq, Christopher John Anstey, his nephew Henry Bosanquet esq, and his brother-in-law William Grey his executors and trustees. Anstey died on 19 Dec 1827, and left no issue. His will was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on 3 July 1828. In consideration of the sum of #1,155 Elizabeth Anstey now assigns to Christopher John Anstey all her right and interest in the #3,000. In his will, Anstey also remembered his nieces Sarah Gansson and Elizabeth Sotheby with bequests of #1,000 each, to be likewise invested by the trustees. 2 pages, signed and sealed by both parties, witnessed (for Elizabeth Anstey) by ?T H Faber and William Crawford Newby both of Stockton, solicitors, and (for Christopher John Anstey) by James Hodgson of Baker and Hodgson of Lincoln's Inn Fields, solicitors, and his clerk George Biggs, duty stamps. Receipt for #1,155 on verso, signed by Elizabeth Ansty. Form of indenture supplied by H W Mills, Law Stationer of 2 Carey St, Lincoln's Inn.
