Administrative / Biographical History

Geoffrey L. Heawood was born in Durham in 1893 and educated at Blundells and Oxford. As a 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, he served in India and Mesopotamia, and was held POW (Prisoner of War) after the Siege of Kut. He later became a Major.
