Welsh Agricultural Organisation Society Ltd Caernarfonshire Records

Records of the Welsh Agricultural Organization Society relating to Caernarfonshire, 1935-1981, comprising files of correspondence and other records relating to various local agricultural societies, most notably Eifionydd Farmers Association Ltd, 1935-1980, South Caernarfon Quality Weaner Group, 1963-1976, South Caernarfon Creameries Ltd, 1955-1963, various rabbit clearance societies, 1958-1962; annual reports of South Caernarfon Creameries Ltd, 1960-1967.

The Welsh Agricultural Organisation Society Ltd (WAOS) is a central body for agricultural co-operation. Its function is to promote, represent and offer leadership to local societies and co-ordinate their activities. It was founded in 1922 as the result of restructuring of the Agricultural Organisation Society and is funded by subscriptions from member bodies and by grants.

All records have been retained

The WAOS records were deposited in the National Library of Wales, [c. 1984]. Files relating to individual counties were then distributed to local Record Offices. The majority of the Society's pre-1945 records were destroyed when moving into new premises in 1958.
