Incomplete manuscript and typescript drafts of an anthropological study of the Mono-Alu people of the Bougainville Strait, West Solomon Islands, authored by G. C. W. C. Wheeler. The study includes detailed observations on Mono-Alu culture, including kinship, religion, marriage, ownership and death rites. Includes a glossary of the Mono-Alu language.

Administrative / Biographical History

G. C. W. C. Wheeler (1872-1943) an anthropologist. In 1908-1909, Wheeler conducted field research amoung the Mono-Alu people of the Bougainville Strait, West Solomon Islands. He spent the later part of his life working on an unpublished anthroplogical account of the culture of the Mono-Alu people.
