Scope and Content

In consideration of an undisclosed sum, John Mylwarde of Burcott, Northamptonshire, gent, assigns the remainder [in effect the full term] of his lease of Sewell Grange and other lands in Brewerne [Bruern], Oxfordshire, to Richard Paramoure, citizen and merchant tailor of London at the same annual rent of #18 19s 6d. Mylwarde's lease, held of his former master Sir Thomas Pope and dated 2 Jan 1 & 2 Philip and Mary, is for 80 years following the expiry of an earlier 50-year lease of the property made in 32 Henry VIII by Pope to Thomas Bridges esq of Cornbury, Oxfordshire (Doc 3924). Indenture, signed and sealed by Paramoure. Tagged pendant small red round seal with unidentified heraldic device.
