RECEIPT: Mr Thomas Rodgers [Rogers] Pentraeth from W Mostyn & Co. Tobacco & Snuff Manufacturers, Madyn Works, Amlwch. For the purchase of 15lbs of Shag. [Includes a trademark logo of a fox].

Thomas Rogers [Rodgers] of Pentraeth, Anglesey, was a grocer and general dealer. He acted as sub-postmaster from 1880-1900. By 1912, his shop was known as 'The Old Post Office'. He lived until he was 91.

W. Mostyn & Co. were a Tobacco and Snuff manucaturer based at the Madyn Works, Amlwch. The company, based on Petter's Street, may have been the first to be established in 1830. The company had changed name to Hugh Owens and Sons in 1910 and later became known as the Amlwch Tobacco company.
