Volumes are a continuous run, 'Autobriography to end of T.', referring to the death of Macmullan's wife. Volumes begin almost entirely as prose, but after the start of the second volume, are more often heavily annotated diary extracts. Would appear to have been intended for publication, although this did not occur.
Volumes cover the following dates:
Vol 1: 1889-1918, 158ff
Vol 2: 1919-1925, 210ff
Vol 3: 1926-1931, 260ff
Vol 4: 1932-1938, 242ff
Vol 5: 1939-1945, 241ff
Vol 6: 1946-1949, 170ff
Vol 7: 1950-1956, 131ff
