Scope and Content

A collection of prospectuses issued by the University of Manchester. Until the 1970s, prospectuses were issued separately by individual faculties, with only limited information being made available in the general prospectus. In addition, prospectuses were occasionally issued for certain departments and some special courses. Until the 1980s, most prospectuses contained mainly factual information about courses and facilities, but thereafter they provided a wider range of information as part of student recruitment.

The collection comprises the following prospectuses:
