It is unclear, due the variety of handwriting, whether Robert William Jones is the sole creator of the material.

Robert William Jones, also known as Treforian, of Trefor, Gwynedd was a supporter of the temperance cause, a collector of taxes, a poet and an essayist. No further biographical information was available at time of compilation of description, although it is believed that he died around the end of the 19th century.
