Administrative / Biographical History

Llanfrechfa Upper Local Board was an urban sanitary authority created in the parish of Llanfrechfa Upper, Monmouthshire, as a result of the Public Health Act 1872. The Board was responsible for various aspects of public health including sewerage, street cleaning and highways. In 1894 the Local Board was replaced by Llanfrechfa Upper Urban District Council.
