The material consists of the Physics courseIntroductio ad physicam specialem, in usum juventutis academicae conscripta1696, and a transcript in both Latin and English along with circa 20 copies of sketches.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Black was a Regent (Professor) at Kings College, Aberdeen. He first appeared in Aberdeen University records as a Regent for the Tertian class (3rd year Arts course), 1684-1685. He was then the Regent of the Magistrand (final year) class, 1685-1686. Professor Black set about writing a course in Physics for the University.
