Scope and Content

A selection of small sketches, all from the late 19th to mid 20th century, from a drawer titled 'Floral Filling', which feature floral, chintz, small spray patterns and some medallion designs. There are designs from a number of different carpet manufacturers includling A. F. Stoddard & Co, James Templeton & Co and Blackwood, Morton & Sons, and most, though not all, are mounted on hard board. Some designs are in the form of promotional boards, so, using the design number, offer the possibility of being cross-referenced with STOD/201/1/1 'Catalogues'.
