Scope and Content

The Evaluation Group originally met to discuss key performance indicators for reporting to DCMS and for measuring performance internally. Thereafter the group decided to discuss market research conducted internally and by external contractors, and to develop a framework for evaluation and performance, to be used to support the Gallery's Business Plan. Current market research findings and visitor comments are discussed at every meeting.

Meetings are attended by the Communications & Development Director, Head of Trading, Buying Manager, Head of Marketing, Head of Visitor Services & Security, Head of Archive and Library, Head of Digital Programmes, Head of Exhibitions & Collections Management, Interpretation Editor, and members of the curatorial staff.

Meetings are held three times a year.

The Evaluation Group was established in 2006.
