Administrative / Biographical History
The Nonconformist denominations were active in Pembrokeshire. The Calvinistic Methodist Church, formed in 1811, now known as the Presbyterian Church of Wales; adopted a presbyterian system of church government of a centralising character, in contrast with the Baptists and Congregationalists. Baptist chapels in Pembrokeshire included Pisgah Baptist Chapel, Carew; Thornton Baptist Chapel, Milford Haven; Galilee Chapel, Llangwm; Bethesda Baptist Chapel, Narberth; Soar/Star Baptist Chapel, Clydey; Llangloffan Baptist Chapel, Granston; Hill Park Baptist Chapel, Haverfordwest; Molleston Baptist Church, Narberth; Bethesda Baptist Church, Haverfordwest; Glanrhyd Baptist Church, Lampeter Velfrey; Goedwick Baptist Church, Goodwick; Bethany Baptist Chapel, Pembroke Dock; Seion Baptist Chapel, St Davids; Moriah Baptist Chapel, Marloes; Deer Park Baptist Church, Tenby; and Broad Haven Hephzibah Baptist Chapel.
