Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Kingston School of Art (later Kingston College of Art) was originally part of Kingston Technical Institute, but formed as a separate institution in 1930. The College moved into its own campus in the Knight's Park area of Kingston in 1939. The School continued to grow in the subsequent years, teaching a number of design related subjects including Fashion and Architecture. In 1970 Kingston College of Art merged with Kingston College of Technology to form Kingston Polytechnic, which later went on to become Kingston University. The former College's site is now the University's Knights Park Campus
