John Fryer, yeoman, of Knapwell, Cambs., son and heir of John Fryer of Hilton, Hunts., deceased, acknowledges himself bound for £40 to George, Earl of Northampton, lord of the Manor of Fenstanton. The condition being that whereas by his surrender into the hands of Thomas Curtis, steward, of his messuage, closes, arable land, and a close called Strongmans leys and land late of William Ilger and before that of William Stennage and Alice his wife. To the use of the said Earl and his heirs...If therefore John Fryer was lawfully seized...and if the said premises are free and discharged from all mortgages...and if John Fryer shall make...further lawful and reasonable conveyance for the further better...confirming of the said premises to the said Earl...this obligation to be void.
