    • 3 vols., manuscript. Bound in boards with marbled paper on the outside covers and black cloth spines. The volumes are numbered 1-3 on small pieces of paper pasted on to the middle of all three outside front covers respectively.

Scope and Content

Comprises autograph manuscript technical botanical and bibliographical notes on many kinds of algae and Desmidiaceae, compiled by W.B. Turner about 1884.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Barwell Turner (1845-1917) was a botanist and expert on the Desmidieae. He became President of the Leeds Naturalists' Club in 1881.
