Probate of will of James Macpherson, of Oxford Street, London, Scotsman. He bequeathers to his wife Anne Macpherson all his estate, after paying £100 to his nephew, Peter Mackay, and after investing £100 for the benefit of Anne, daughter of his wife by a previous husband (surname not mentioned). After his wife's death the estate to be equally divided between his wife's three children, Anne, Elizabeth, wife of John Taplin (who is not to be able to touch it), and William. Witnesses: Alex. Macarthur, of 26 Eyre Street, Cold Bath Square,London, and George Pratt, of 166 Oxford Street, London. Impression of seal. Signed by the Deputy Registers: Nath. Gatling, R.E. Cresswell, and Geo. Jenner. A note on the outside says: 'A memorial registered... 14 Jan. 1830'. Signed by J. Riggle (?) Dep. Pencilled in back in a much later hand: Mr. Shepherd, Russell St., for Lady Carr. Probate says: 'James Macpherson, late of Oxford Street, in the parish of St. Marylebone in the county of Middlesex'.
