Scope and Content

Cowley St. Mary and St. John (also known as Cowley St. John) is a parish in the east of the city of Oxford, which was created from parts of the parishes of Cowley, Oxford St. Clements and Iffley in 1868.

Most of the records of the parish were deposited with the Bodleian Library in 1983. However, PAR76/1/R3/9 was deposited with Oxfordshire Archives in 1988 as Acc 2759, and PAR76/1/R4/5, R6/1-3 and R7/3 were deposited here in 1994 as Acc 3758. Further material was deposited as Acc 5518 in March 2006 and Acc 6969 in March 2022
