Scope and Content

Collations made by or for Frederick Field for his edition of Chrysostom's Homilies on St. Paul's Epistles (Oxford, 1847-62). They are partly written in two printed copies of Savile's Chrysostom and one of Montfaucon's (1838).

Administrative / Biographical History

Frederick Field (1801-1885) was Rector of Reepham, Norfolk, and a Classical and Biblical Scholar. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
