Scope and Content

Late 19th century, 25" Ordnance Survey maps of Wales. Coverage of Wales is fairly comprehensive, though not complete.

Administrative / Biographical History

Produced by Ordnance Survey as part of their mapping programme, from 1887 to 1889, at a scale of 25" to the mile. The collection is made up of a mixture of two published editions, known as the First and Second Edition maps.

The maps were originally part of a larger collection, covering England and Wales, held by the National Monuments Record of England. The Welsh maps were transferred to the NMRW in 04/1992.
