The project includes oral histories, videos, project outputs, material re the Longsight-Sylhet Link group from 2003, material of Ahmed Iqbal Memorial Trust and School as well as Ahmed Iqbal Ullah and his family. It consists of both physical and digital content.

Administrative / Biographical History

In 1986 Ahmed Iqbal Ullah was murdered at Burnage High School by a fellow pupil. This project, managed by the Ahmed Iqbal Ulah Education Trust, aimed to mark the legacy of Ahmed by exploring the memories of his murder and the organisations that were established in memory of him including the Ahmed Iqbal Memorial Trust and School, the Manchester Bangladeshi Women's Organisation Ananna and the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre and Education Trust.

Arrangement

Arranged into the following series: oral histories, oral history portraits, other project outputs, material regarding the Longsight-Sylhet Link group 2003, material regarding the Ahmed Iqbal Memorial School and project's school visit, material of Ahmed Iqbal Ullah and his family and finally some related material gathered on the project.

Custodial History

This collection was created and acquired through the Legacy of Ahmed project, conducted by the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Education Trust in 2016. Donated material came from the various project partners, including members of the Longsight-Sylhet Link group; the Manchester Bangladeshi Women's Organisation, Ananna; Mrs Begum (Ahmed Iqbal Ullah's mother) and interviewees involved in the project.
