Manuscript volume containing several speeches made during the House of Commons debate on King Charles I's propositions for supply, 2 Apr 1628.

The House of Commons is the effective legislative authority in Great Britain. It alone has the right to impose taxes and to vote money to, or withhold it from, the monarch and the various public departments and services. The passage of legislation is the House of Commons' primary function.

Part of the Goldsmith's Library of Economic Literature, initially collected by Herbert Somerton Foxwell and presented by the Goldsmith's Company to the University of London in 1903.

This manuscript was enclosed in University of London MS 201, a manuscript copy of Samuel Lambe's Seasonable observations humbly offered to His Highness the Lord Protector (London, 1657), bought at Sir Thomas Phillipps' sale at Sotheby's, Jun 1893.
